The Land of the Functioning

I seem to be slowly rejoining the land of the healthy and functioning.  I tidied up my craft room (trust me, it was bad), I made a couple pieces of jewelry and I baked muffins -- all in the same week!  I have a renewed empathy for people who experience chronic pain or illness.  Just six weeks of Legionnaire's Disease has demanded my complete surrender.  Thank goodness, my recovery is nearly complete.

Meanwhile, in the midst of all this craziness, I began my Practitioner training course.  (This is the Lay Clergy licensing program for the United Centers for Spiritual Living -- a demanding two year program.)  I can only assume that the required daily meditations and prayer work have helped me heal, or at least kept me sane in the meantime.

"What's encouraging about meditation is that even if we shut down, we can no longer shut down in ignorance. We see very clearly that we're closing off. That in itself begins to illuminate the darkness of ignorance.”
