Following up on the "Belly-Piercing Daughter" story: Several of you requested that I let y'all know what we decided to do to our little miscreant.
The punishments are as follows:
1) The piercing was removed. (Of course.)
2) I took her to the doctor, where she received the necessary shots. (She was not entertained.)
3) She's grounded until school starts, as I can obviously not trust her to keep herself safe and hole-free, and she can clearly never hang out with "piercing girl" ever again.
This is where it gets fun... The doctor has prescribed the following additional treatments:
4) She has to do lots and lots of chores! (Because she obviously has too much time on her hands!)
and 5) She has to go to the gym and yoga with me, whenever I want, to burn off some of this negative energy! (This is awesome, because I don't like to go alone.) Plus, this helps me keep an eye on her, which she clearly needs.
So, I have a newly disinfected, hole-free daughter, a clean house and a yoga partner. If she rebels again, I start confiscating earrings! This plan of action certainly seems to be working in my favor. Thanks, Dr. Sarihan!Labels: consequences, daughter, grounded, Lezli Goodwin, piercing, punishment
