It's Inspiration Week!
You know who inspires me? Lezli Goodwin! I'm hearing a lot lately from people who find my work inspiring, and I'm started to get comfortable with the idea! I've always hoped that the way I live my life could serve as a positive example of joyful, loving, sassy living. I just do my thing the best way I know how, getting a little better as I go along. When I stop and take a moment to look at all of my projects and all of my creative accomplishments, I have to admit: I'm pretty inspiring! I am the creative director of a growing chain of bead stores, I design jewelry and beading components, I paint, I write, I maintain two blogs and one e-magazine, I have five great kids and an amazing partner, I study New Thought philosophy with a deep passion... and I do it all with spunk!
Here are my rules for creative, inspirational living:
- These rules are subject to change at any moment. You have to go with the flow, sista, if you want to stay in the flow.
- If it's fun, you're on the right track. If it's not fun, you have two choices: find a way to make it fun, or find another track.
- Spend your time with juicy people, who are doing fun, interesting, juicy things. Be thrilled for them when their projects succeed. Let them be thrilled for you. Help each other. Love each other.
- Make stuff. It doesn't matter what. It doesn't even matter if you make them well. Making things, being creative, feeds a part of your soul that MUST be nourished if you want to thrive. Write. Paint. Make a bird house. Take photos. Dance. Build a book shelf. Paint a chair. Right now.
- Find your Truth, and celebrate it. Go to church, take a hike, meditate, whatever. Honor that part of us all that is MORE, and you connect to the MORE in yourself.
See, it's easy. Now, go do it!Labels: creativity, inspirational living, inspire, Lezli Goodwin, make stuff, New Thought, SARK, truth
