With five kids, there are always five (or more) places we need to be in any given day. Yesterday was no exception. Melody, our resident model, had a photo shoot for an alternative rock layout. As always, the shoot ran a bit over and left our thirteen year old looking like she was 24. She's a beautiful young thing, and I understand her love and appreciation for all things fashion. It's still a bit of a shock, though, to see her looking so grown up. I personally removed all of that eye makeup. It was very satisfying.
Creighton had a laser tag birthday party to attend in the afternoon on one side of town, and an evening baseball game on the other. The game was quite an adventure! He stole two bases, scored a run, pitched a bit. I think he was pleased that most of his brothers and sisters were there to see him play well. Most notably, it rained cats and dogs during the game. All of the spectators were huddled against the school, sheltering under the small overhang. The players, though, loved every minute of it! They were energized by the rain, hopping around and having a great time.
And, of course, Lauren had the spring dance last night. The kids played along bravely as I took approximately six million photos, including pictures of her putting on those darn shoes. After a week filled with shopping, fittings, hair appointments and accessory design, the look came together perfectly. She looked great. More importantly, she looked confident. There are those moments when all of the growth over months and months coalesce, and you get a glimpse of the adult your child is growing to be. She really is a young woman now. I think we've done well.Labels: baseball, busy, dance, family, Goodwin, model
